So I’m driving to the gym and I always pass this house that just goes absolutely huge in decorations. Let me show you. I mean they always go absolutely huge: look at this place! What is this thing? I mean it’s impressive. Well maybe not impressive. I mean look at this thing! All right, so how can anyone look at that and be like, ‘Hey, Halloween’s fine; there’s nothing bad.’
I see people all over social media right now saying, ‘Christians can keep Halloween, it’s not a big deal. I don’t do any of the bad stuff, or any of the evil stuff. Is it a big deal if my daughter dresses up as a princess?’
It is impossible to separate the evil stuff from whatever things that we are calling good that’s associated with Halloween. We know that doesn’t come from God, so why not just stay as far away from it as possible and then do the things that He actually asked us to do like His Holy Days, for instance which reveal God’s plan. I mean God puts these Holy Days in there for all of His people; He tells us to do it and then almost none of His people keep them.
We work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, a deep awe and respect of God. Why not just stay as far away from it as possible? There's all kinds of other things we can do to have fun with our kids to teach them about God in His way of life. There's a better way than holidays, especially holidays like Halloween. Should we do it? Uhh, I don’t think so, but again the choice is up to every one of us individually. At the end of the day we’ll stand before God and do our best to explain why we made the choices we made. That’s it. Hope you have a great day.
