If there is a God, where is He? Why does He allow so much suffering? If God the Father and Jesus Christ are all powerful, why haven't They removed Satan from his throne and from the earth? Most who believe in God believe in Satan. They believe that a being with great power is the enemy of God. Why would God even tolerate this?  I mean, we all have questions, I suppose, like this.

One of the biggest reasons people don't believe in God is because there's so much suffering all over the world. For some, all they've known is suffering and for the majority of time in history most people have had to endure miserable circumstances and pain. Some reports will say that from 150 million to over a billion people have died from war, same thing with disease;  anywhere from hundreds of millions of people to billions.

Why would God allow this?  It might not seem like it but, believe it or not, God has a plan! He has declared the end from the beginning and, for a limited time, He has given Satan authority over the earth. That's what the Bible says!

When Jesus Christ came to the earth after His baptism, He was tempted by Satan and was eventually offered all the kingdoms of the world. Satan clearly stated that he had the authority to do so and that they were delivered to him. This alone should prove that everything going on the earth right here is not necessarily the way that God wants it to be. God does not create war. He doesn't promote suffering. He doesn't perpetuate evil. This is Satan's world and those things come as a result of doing it Satan's way.

The Bible tells us "Woe to the  inhabitants of the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you having great wrath because he knows that he has a short time." God has allowed this time to serve as the evidence of what happens when we go our own way. Satan has been allowed this time to influence and deceive the world.

Deep down we know exactly what this is like! How many of us, even when we're told, "Hey don't do that, that's not going to work”. “Don't do that! That's going to hurt." How many of us still do it anyways just to prove "Oh yeah that definitely hurts when I do that."? We've been given this opportunity to see what works and what doesn't. Most of what we do doesn't lead to peace or true happiness! Most of what's happening out there hurts us.

I mean, there's so many people who are absolutely miserable and it mostly comes as a result of the choices we make which just don't work. Every excuse must be removed from mankind. Every single one! There's not going to be any debate, not going to be a chance where people can just say “We could have had some new government structure”, or “We needed a new king or the right queen or the perfect president or dictator or Tsar or Emperor.” It doesn't matter!  All of it has been tried.

We've been given approximately 6,000 years to try things our own way and see what exactly happens when we do that. This is where we end up suffering of every kind. War, disease, people starving to death, we have contributed to our own misery that we have experienced for so long.  

All of that will soon change! There is no great struggle for the future of the world. God is not wondering how He's ever going to get through this, if His plan is really going to work. His plan is going to work!

The current ruler of this world will be dealt with sufficiently.  His time is coming to an end. Jesus Christ is coming back! There is hope. The earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14). The whole world will finally know the way that leads to everlasting peace and everlasting life. It's only a matter of time. Tick, tock.
