SHOULD WE BE WORRIED ABOUT THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST?

One of the most important and exciting messages in the Bible reveals that Jesus Christ is coming to establish The Kingdom of God on this earth, but with that message comes an intense warning for all mankind.

Revelation 19:15- Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

What is this warning? And what should we do about it?

Before His return terrible events will cause widespread confusion and despair.

Revelation’s seals, trumpets, and plagues are coming:

Revelation 6:1-8

False religion destroys faith in the One True God. War takes peace from the earth. Famine causes extreme starvation. Disease scourges the people.

Revelation 8:7-13 Revelation 9:1-21, Revelation 16:1-21

Plant life and sea life will be destroyed. Water infected and turned to blood. Mankind tormented. The most devastating earthquakes in human history. The sun and moon will be struck and darkness will fill the earth.

Billions (at least a third of mankind) will die. (Revelation 6:8, Revelation 9:15, 18)

Why will Christ bring so much devastation?

Why is Christ so angry when He returns?

Because we have rejected Him and are engulfed in our own ideals, traditions, and philosophies – we’ve decided what is right and wrong for ourselves. Every facet of society is fueled by self interest, greed, and lust for power.

Isaiah 59:1-4 Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. 2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear. 3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue has muttered perversity. 4 No one calls for justice, nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; they conceive evil and bring forth iniquity.

Things are so miserable because we serve self and, in doing so, we walk away from God and His way of life. The Creator is left out of the equation altogether, so the “father of lies'' succeeds in his mission to deceive the whole world.

Isaiah 59:12-15 For our transgressions are multiplied before You, And our sins testify against us; For our transgressions are with us, And as for our iniquities, we know them: 13 In transgressing and lying against the Lord, And departing from our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. 14 Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands afar off; For truth is fallen in the street, And equity cannot enter. 15 So truth fails, And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.

Today we witness millions of innocents aborted, the trafficking of women and children, violence and war which has become a natural part of life. Lives are stolen away for nothing.

Justice is a lost cause

And so God warns the world to change.

Despite this devastating description in the Bible, God doesn't look forward to sending punishment on the earth. Instead, He is actively warning us to repent and change for the opportunity to be part of God’s Family.

Ezekiel 33:11 Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways!
Isaiah 58:1 “Cry aloud, spare not; lift up your voice like a trumpet; tell My people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.”

God wants us to take the warning to heart!

It’s not enough to simply know His plan, we have to pursue His way of life.

1 Timothy 2:3-4  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires for all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Open your Bible! Prove all things, put in the time! Make the change and evaluate yourself according to what the Bible actually says.

Luke 21:34-36 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Revelation 18:4-5 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
2 Corinthians 5:9-10 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

Time is short. Allow God’s warning to inspire change. Jesus Christ is coming!
